The Power Energy Ghana Expo, set to take place from October 30-31, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Center in Accra, Ghana, is poised to be a significant event in the power and energy sector. With an expected 100+ exhibitors and over 4000 professional visitors, this expo aims to provide a platform for global manufacturers and exporters to showcase their products and meet with partners, distributors, and end customers in the Ghana and West African region.

Ghana, with its population of approximately 31 million and a total installed power generation capacity of over 5000 MW as of 2021, is a key market for power and energy products. The country is also a power exporter to its neighbors, with 85% of the population having access to electricity. However, there are challenges such as significant electricity losses at the retail end due to inefficient transmission infrastructure and commercial negligence. The annual power demand growth rate is between 10-15%, driven by the expanding industrial sector, service sector (especially banking, communication, and hospitality services), rapid urbanization, growth of the middle-class population, and population growth.

The expo is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy & Ministry of Trade & Investment of Ghana. It also receives support from major chambers and sectoral associations in Ghana, including AGI (Ghana Industry Promotion Centre), Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GNCCI), Ghana Electrical Contractors Association (GECA), and Ghana Electrical Dealers Association (GEDA). The event aims to leverage Ghana's thrust on renewable sources for power generation, with solar photovoltaic and wind energy being prioritized. The government encourages private sector involvement in increasing power generation.

Exhibitors can expect to meet visitors from all over the world at this expo. Common amenities requiring power requirements like street lights, energy monitoring gadgets to save power at commercial and industrial units, decentralized power systems for deprived areas are among the demand areas identified by GIPC (Ghana Industry Promotion Centre). Additionally, Ghana imported electrical items worth approximately USD 743 million in 2020, marking a significant increase from 2019.

For those interested in attending or exhibiting at this event, registration is now open. Visitors can register hassle-free to meet exhibitors from West Africa and Ghana. Exhibitors can showcase their products to a wide audience of professionals from various sectors within the region.
