Mark your calendar for November 24 to 27, 2025, as the 6th edition of Iraq Plast takes place at the Erbil International Fairground. This event is set to be a significant driving force within Iraq’s plastics and packaging industries, offering an invaluable platform for professionals to exchange business ideas and discuss investments.

More than 10,000 professionals from across Iraq and beyond are expected to attend this key industry event. The exhibition will feature innovative products, technologies, and solutions from over 300 exhibitors. The organizers, So Fuar and fairtrade Messe, have expanded the event to two halls to accommodate the growing demand and provide a comprehensive and intensive experience.

Hall 2 will focus on raw materials and machinery for the plastics, printing, and packaging industries. Meanwhile, Hall 1 will showcase finished food & beverage products through Food Iraq and Agro Iraq, which will highlight agriculture, crop production, livestock breeding, and poultry.

The dynamic development of the Iraqi market is evident in the increasing participation of exhibitors. In 2024, 317 exhibitors from 18 countries joined the event, compared to 222 exhibitors from 16 countries in 2023. This growth reflects Iraq's commitment to bolstering local production and the "Made-in-Iraq" initiative.

Recent statistics show that Iraq's imports of plastic raw materials have grown by 24% annually between 2011 and 2020, reaching from 40 kt to 285 kt. The country's plastic consumption per capita has increased by 23% annually over the past years, from 0.5 kg in 2009 to an estimated 9.0 kg in 2026.

The importance of Iraq Plast cannot be overstated in enhancing the nation's self-sufficiency. It serves as a significant testament to Iraq's commitment to local production and trade within the plastics, printing, and packaging industries.
