Organized by fairtrade Messe, this key industry gathering celebrated its 10-year milestone and attracted over 2,230 buyers and industry professionals from Nigeria and across West and Central Africa. The event featured dynamic and engaging presentations at exhibitors' stands, particularly in the national pavilions of the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, China, and South Africa.
Germany was honored as the Guest of Honor, adding prestige to the celebration. Key decision-makers from both government and business sectors showed unprecedented interest in exploring the solutions showcased by exhibitors. Thousands of targeted business discussions took place during the event, with valuable insights from 42 conference sessions featuring 90 speakers. The exceptional networking opportunities further enhanced the value of the event.
The Nigerian plastprintpack market is experiencing significant growth. According to VDMA data from 2023, Nigeria is the second largest importer of plastics technology in Africa, with €143 million in imports in 2022. The market for printing and paper processing technology has also grown rapidly, increasing by an average of 17% annually between 2016 and 2022. With €92 million in imports in 2022, Nigeria ranks second in sub-Saharan Africa for printing and paper technology imports.
Nigeria's imports of packaging technology reached €183 million in 2022, making it the largest importer of packaging technology in Africa. This growth presents a promising opportunity for exhibitors looking to enter or expand their presence in the Nigerian market.
