The 21st and 22nd of May 2025 saw the Flanders Expo in Ghent host a significant event for innovative product development. This event, which attracted a large number of exhibitors and visitors, covered an extensive area of over 1434 square meters. Among the many companies present, DPTechnics stood out with its cutting-edge IoT hardware and software solutions.

DPTechnics is a R&D firm specializing in IoT hardware and software, offering customizable IoT building blocks and a proprietary IoT platform for seamless development. The company's Walter module is a small-form-factor IoT system-on-module (SoM) that combines a powerful ESP32-S3 system-on-chip (SoC) with a second-generation Sequans GM02SP LTE-M/NB-IoT 5G modem and GNSS receiver. This module is designed to provide robust connectivity and precise location data for various IoT applications.

The journey of DPTechnics began when Daan Pape, while studying computer science at Ghent University in Belgium, started developing the DPT-Module and DPT-Board early in 2014. In the summer of the same year, the company was officially launched with a successful crowdfunding campaign aimed at mass production.
