The Healthy Food Show, a brand-new event at Macfrut 2025, will take place from May 6 to 8 in Rimini's Expo Centre. This event focuses on plant products with high nutritional value obtained using sustainable and new technologies, offering a unique format that caters to both professionals and food enthusiasts. Six scientific experts in nutrition, food technology, and microbiology will be joined by ten famous Italian testimonials, chefs, and companies to discuss various topics related to health and nutrition.

On the first day of the event, Tuesday 6 May, Professor Francesco Sofi from the University of Florence will lead the first session titled 'What to eat to live well to 100?'. He will discuss how the Mediterranean diet is strongly associated with increased longevity due to its balanced and varied approach to eating. The second session on the same day will be about 'New frontiers in food processing: improvement and customisation', presented by Pietro Rocculi and Francesca Patrignani from the University of Bologna (DISTAL).

On Wednesday 7 May, Professor Alessandra Bordoni of the University of Bologna will speak about 'From Junk Food to Healthy Food', addressing how modern lifestyles have led to a shift in consumer demand for foods that are easy to prepare. The afternoon session on this day will focus on 'What are you eating today? Ask your microbiota', presented by PhD Edoardo Mocini from eCampus University.

The final session on Thursday 8 May at 11:30 am will be given by Dr Fabrizia Lisso from the Local Health Authority of Foggia, discussing how the Mediterranean diet has a preventative effect by positively influencing molecular mechanisms and promoting healthy body composition.

The event is organized by Macfrut in collaboration with the Italian Federation of Nutrition Societies (FeSIN), the Department of Agri-Food Science and Technology (DISTAL) of the University of Bologna, and Pubblisole. Exhibitors' catalogues are available for those interested in participating.
