The 42nd edition of the international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable supply chain, Macfrut, will take place from May 6 to 8, 2025, at the Rimini Expo Centre. This event will feature a renewed focus on water resources, thanks to a partnership between Macfrut and Acqua Campus.
One of the key highlights of this year's fair is the expansion of Acqua Campus to an experimental area covering over 1,000 square metres. This area will showcase advanced irrigation systems and serve as an outdoor classroom for schools specializing in agronomy. The nearby ANBI stand will host the opening ceremony and be bustling with activity throughout the event.
Visitors can expect to see demonstrations of water-saving and energy-saving solutions, as well as innovations in ecosystem services. The Water Revolution interactive area will provide live demonstrations in the field, including the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture. Additionally, workshops will be held on innovative experiences from various regions across Italy, highlighting the potential of reclamation and irrigation consortia.
Francesco Vincenzi, President of ANBI (National Association of Consortia for the Management and Protection of Land and Irrigated Waters), emphasized that maintenance, infrastructure, innovation, and culture are central to ANBI's proposals. He noted that these objectives have guided their activities at Macfrut since its inception.
Macfrut is expected to attract a significant number of exhibitors and visitors. The trade fair's organizers have not provided exact figures for exhibitors or attendees but have highlighted that it will be a showcase for variety innovation in fruit growing.
