The Bett Brasil Edtech Awards, launched for the 30th edition of the event, aims to recognize edtech solutions that offer innovative approaches to education. This initiative is particularly significant given the rapid growth of the edtech sector in Brazil and Latin America. According to the EdTech Report 2024 by Distrito, Brazil hosts nearly 70% of all edtech startups in Latin America, with a total of 898 active edtechs as of 2024.

The Bett Brasil Edtech Awards will be presented during the event, which takes place from April 28 to May 1, 2025, at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. The event will feature three categories: Early Stage, Traction, and Scale-up. Each category is designed to recognize startups at different stages of their development.

The awards are open to startups that offer solutions for the education sector and have active CNPJs (National Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica). The categories are defined based on the lifecycle stages of a startup: Early Stage startups have annual revenues up to R$500,000; Traction startups have revenues between R$500,000 and R$10 million; and Scale-up startups have annual revenues exceeding R$10 million and have grown by more than 20% annually over the past three years.

On April 18, nine finalists will be announced (three from each category). These finalists will present their businesses on May 1 during the event. The winners will receive a trophy, a certificate, a Table Top for participation in the Arena Bett Startup 2026, specialized mentoring, and an opportunity to showcase their brand to the entire educational community. Additionally, there will be a public vote for a 'startup of the year' award.

The Bett Brasil Edtech Awards Advisory Committee includes key figures such as Leo Gmeiner from School Guardian and Lars Janér from Learnbase. They emphasize that for edtech solutions to truly impact education in Brazil, they must address real challenges faced by educational institutions and companies. Janér highlights how edtechs can personalize learning and improve data usage in education.

The event also includes a renewed focus on edtech through its Advisory Council. This council aims to support strategies and initiatives that foster relationships with educational sectors throughout the year.
