Just four weeks to go until the 37th edition of the Control international trade fair for quality assurance, which will take place in Stuttgart from May 6th to 9th, 2025. The event will fill up four entire halls, offering a world-class supplementary programme that includes the "Control Quality Talks" – a panel discussion on AI in quality assurance.
Quality assurance (QA) is a crucial component of industrial production and various non-industrial processes. It encompasses a wide range of processes and technologies, including machine vision, image processing, sensor technology, and measuring and test technology. As an international trade fair for QA, Control has a long tradition of focused thematic relevance and high levels of expertise. According to Fabian Krüger, the Control project manager at trade fair promoters P. E. Schall, approximately one-third of the exhibitors will come from outside Germany this year.
The trade fair will showcase various types of measuring technology in halls 3, 5, 7, and 9 at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. Artificial intelligence (AI) will be one of the key topics, with extensive demonstrations planned throughout the event. One highlight is the "2025 Control Quality Talks," where renowned experts will discuss AI in QA under the theme "AI in QA – Will the Future be Free of Defects?" The discussion will be moderated by Dr.-Ing. Peter Ebert from "inVISION" and feature speakers such as Dr.-Ing. Ira Effenberger from Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA.
In addition to these talks, visitors can benefit from the presentation forum and special show on contactless measuring technology by Fraunhofer's Vision business unit. This special show will feature state-of-the-art technologies and applications from the field of contactless measuring and test technology.
The supplementary programme at Control is designed to provide expert visitors with up-to-date information and networking opportunities. As Krüger notes, "the supplementary programme is indispensable for gathering additional expert knowledge concerning modern measuring technology and quality assurance." With large numbers of visitors expected this year, attendees can look forward to discovering innovative solutions in QA.
