The Norwegian boat industry has been celebrating significant events and expanding its presence in recent months. After the removal of the Refunds Regulation for Crude Oil on January 1, 2025, the focus has shifted to traditional trade fairs and exhibitions. One such event was "Sjøen for Alle" held on October 28, 2024, marking a revival after years of declining attendance and a pandemic.
The Norwegian pavilion at Metstrade in 2024 showcased the participation of 14 companies/ producers of maritime equipment, highlighting their preference for using the world's largest B2B arena for the boat industry. This event aimed to strengthen the ties between these companies and potential buyers from around the world.
Norboat also extended its invitation to "Båter i Sjøen" from August 29 to September 1, 2024, at Aker Brygge Marina. This event is recognized as Scandinavia's largest floating boat fair, attracting numerous visitors and exhibitors. The fair not only celebrates maritime culture but also serves as a platform for networking and business opportunities.
In response to proposed regulations that could ban bilge water discharge from leisure boats in Oslofjorden, Norboat submitted its views in a hearing on March 12, 2024. The organization emphasized that such regulations could be poorly prioritized.
With 387 member companies, including 110 authorized members, Norboat continues to play a crucial role in setting standards within the recreational boat industry. The authorization regulation is expected to elevate business standards and encourage authorized members to become preferred suppliers of goods and services.
