India’s largest technology exhibition, GrainTech India 2025, is set to take place from August 1st to 3rd, 2025, at BIEC in Bangalore, India. This event, celebrating its 15th anniversary, is a significant platform for showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in the grain milling, food processing, and packaging industries. The exhibition will be held concurrently with the 16th edition of India Foodex 2025, an international exhibition focusing on food and beverage products, food processing machinery, HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes and Catering), cold chain solutions, and allied industries.

The exhibition is expected to attract over 350 exhibitors from more than 20 countries. These include some of the world's top companies in the grain milling sector. The event will feature live machinery demonstrations and workshops, providing a unique opportunity for industry professionals to explore new technologies and network with peers. With a vibrant milling industry that processes about 200 million tonnes of various grains annually and employs around 400,000 people, there is significant potential for capacity scale-up and modernization.

The Indian grain milling industry is characterized by a mix of traditional and modern practices. There are over 5000 flour milling plants and chakki mills in both organized and unorganized sectors, along with thousands of rice mills, pulses mills, soybean plants, spices crushing plants, oilseed crushing units, feed units, bio-fuel projects, coffee plants, and more. These entities are constantly seeking new technologies to enhance their manufacturing processes.

The exhibition aims to provide a platform for participants to showcase their products and technologies related to production, storage, distribution, transportation, and processing of food grains and other food items. It also seeks to bridge the technological gap between processing and supply chain management while promoting value addition in various segments such as rice, wheat, pulses, oilseeds, spices, dairy products including Indian millets.

Government support plays a crucial role in promoting technological advancements in these sectors. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries are working closely with Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) to support start-ups and encourage the milling industry to focus on these crops. This initiative aims to enhance export targets by achieving greater value addition through modernization.

With an expected attendance of over 25000 visitors from across the globe, GrainTech India 2025 promises to be an exciting event for all stakeholders in the grain milling industry. It offers unparalleled opportunities for networking and business development in one of India’s fastest-growing economies.
