Art Thessaloniki, an exciting meeting point for galleries, artists, and art lovers, celebrates its first decade of contribution to the international art scene. Established in 2015, the fair has grown into one of the most important artistic events in Greece and the Balkans, gaining international recognition for its role in promoting contemporary art. The 8th edition of Art Thessaloniki is scheduled for May 15-18, 2025, at TIF-HELEXPO in Thessaloniki. This event will welcome galleries and collectors from Greece, the Balkans, Europe, Asia, and the USA.
Thessaloniki is a multicultural contemporary city with a rich cultural life and excellent gastronomic identity. It is home to three vibrant universities (Aristotle University, PAMAK, International University), making it a hub of intellectual and creative activity. The fair is firmly committed to fostering cultural exchange and innovation in the field of visual arts by creating a global dialogue among artists, collectors, galleries, and art critics from around the world.
The main purpose of Art Thessaloniki is to promote the broadening of artistic interest through important museum collections and recognized artists proposed by galleries. The fair supports young artists up to 33 years old by awarding ten prizes. Additionally, there are opportunities for independent artists to exhibit their works through the Independent Artists project. Other benefits include free parking, wi-fi access, insurance coverage, LED lighting installations (one LED per four meters), promotion on the website and media channels, catalogues, and entry cards.
Art Thessaloniki has taken significant steps towards international collaboration by inviting Pantelis Tsatsis to participate in panels discussing international art fairs at events like Sofia Art Fair and MoBU Bucharest Fair. These collaborations aim to strengthen dialogue between local artistic communities and highlight contemporary artistic production from the Balkans.
The 7th edition of Art Thessaloniki featured an exhibition titled "OUT OF ORDER, BEYOND THE BORDER," which showcased works from Greek artists of diaspora. This year's event will include approximately 80 galleries and projects from around the world. Internationally acclaimed artist OPY ZOUNI was honored as this year's artist.
Art Thessaloniki continues to evolve as a platform for culture, art trade, and communication. It promotes interculturalism and artistic creation while providing valuable resources for participants.
