The African continent is rapidly pushing towards economic development and transformation, with a surge in the renewable energy market. Solar Power Africa, committed to ensuring definitions, ideas, knowledge, and expertise are available to further the usage of solar power and renewable energy in Africa, is set to host one of the largest energy events on the continent. This year’s conference will focus on the theme: "Powering Africa’s Renewable Transition: Advancing Solar Innovation, Sustainable Investments, and Energy Storage Solutions."

Solar Power Africa 2025 will co-locate with the Africa Energy Indaba, supported by the City of Cape Town as the host city. The conference will feature 10 plenary sessions and 3 keynote addresses, addressing topics such as financing solar projects in Africa, battery storage technologies, and the future of electric vehicles (EVs) and solar power integration. The event will also explore regulatory and policy frameworks shaping solar energy development in Africa.

Cape Town is a leading African business hub that supports innovation and big ideas. It is a top-ranked destination for investment and has all the attributes that appeal to people looking for a great city in which to live, work, study, play, and invest. The city has a thriving knowledge economy and a growing skills market. The City's Energy and Economic Growth Directorates are committed to delivering on their Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and aligning with United Nations SDG goals 7 and 8 by obtaining investments, building a secure economy and energy future, and creating a more resilient city.

In 2024, Solar Power Africa welcomed 1908 visitors, 242 conference delegates, 100 speakers, 65 media representatives, 60 exhibitors, and 8 sponsors. The event provided networking opportunities with peers in a business environment to understand business and industry needs. Attendees had access to a network of international professionals in the solar, storage, and related energy fields.

The conference is crucial for advancing our clean energy future in Africa. With a regulatory environment geared to promote the growing market opportunity for solar in Africa, Solar Power Africa offers an excellent opportunity to expand your network and join thought leaders discussing technologies, trends, innovations, opportunities, as well as the infrastructure and solutions required for integrating renewable energy storage policies that will drive the sector forward towards a sustainable clean energy future.
