Nor-Shipping 2022, scheduled from January 10-13, is determined to provide a safe and secure environment for business and networking despite new coronavirus restrictions in Norway. The event, which will be held at Novo Spektrum in Lillestrøm, has implemented appropriate public health measures to ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors. New national restrictions have reintroduced one-meter distancing guidelines and the use of face masks in certain situations, but exhibitions are still supported.

Sidsel Norvik, Nor-Shipping Director, emphasized the importance of adhering to these measures: "The new measures have been put in place to create safe environments, protect society and reassure people, not to close down activity." She further stated that exhibitors and visitors are eager for the event to proceed. "We’ve been kept apart as a business community for so long, but now we have the chance to reunite, showcase innovations, share knowledge and build the partnerships we need for sustainable, future development."

Nor-Shipping expects up to 700 international companies to exhibit at its 22,000 sq m facilities. The event is part of Novo Spektrum, which has been running successful activities throughout the pandemic and is well versed in hygiene, distancing, and safety routines. The management team is planning to establish a test facility on site to ensure international visitors can meet their own national testing demands for travel.

Erlend Prytz, CEO of Norwegian Maritime Exporters, which runs the largest national pavilion at Nor-Shipping, expressed confidence in the event's ability to adapt: "The restrictions may change the ways we interact, but they do not impact upon our need to do so! Nor-Shipping remains an absolutely vital arena for bringing stakeholders and international markets together in one place."
