The 2025 Guangzhou Whisky and Global Spirits Special Exhibition, scheduled from May 20 to 22 at the Canton Fair Exhibition Hall B, is set to be a significant event in the spirits industry. This exhibition aims to provide a platform for producers, brand owners, importers, distributors, buyers, bars, and restaurants to engage in international exchanges and collaborations. The event will showcase premium whisky products from various countries, innovative brewing techniques, and industry trends, facilitating the expansion and deepening of businesses in the Greater Bay Area and the Asian market.
In recent years, the wine industry has seen significant growth in China. The history of wine in China dates back to the Han Dynasty when Zhang Qian's mission to the Western Regions opened up the Silk Road. This period saw wine primarily enjoyed by the upper class. In 1892, patriotic overseas Chinese businessman Zhang Bishi founded the Changyu Company with the aim of revitalizing China through industrial wine production. Since then, China has witnessed a rapid development in its wine industry.
To further promote this growth, KOTON International Exhibition has launched a series of professional wine and spirits tours across China. The first tour is set to take place on February 18th in China's first professional wine and spirits exhibition tour. This initiative aims to connect exhibitors with local distributors through precise invitations before each city tour. These events have been supported by local winemakers' associations and media outlets. Over 300 to 1200 dealers are expected to attend each event.
Furthermore, KOTON International Exhibition has unveiled its global tour plan for Chinese wines in 2025. This plan aims to explore new markets and opportunities by leveraging various industries such as tourism, catering services, cultural arts sectors, and e-commerce platforms. The strategy includes promoting wine tourism products, integrating into restaurants abroad, enhancing brand image through cultural activities, and optimizing market strategies using data analysis.
The global market for spirits presents vast opportunities for Chinese wines and spirits. With China's Belt and Road initiative continuously advancing and globalization trends expanding international spirits demand diversification, there is a need for cross-industry collaborations to form synergies. This includes partnerships with foreign tourism sectors to develop tasting tours; integrating into overseas restaurants; aligning with cultural art industries; and collaborating with e-commerce platforms to refine market strategies based on data analysis.
The upcoming exhibitions are expected to attract numerous exhibitors and visitors alike. The Guangzhou Whisky Exhibition is anticipated to draw around 300 exhibitors showcasing their products over three days. Meanwhile, Interwine Guangzhou is expected to welcome approximately 150 exhibitors from around the world.
These events not only serve as platforms for business networking but also contribute significantly to the development of China's wine industry by fostering international cooperation and showcasing innovative trends in the sector.
