The Grupo Pereira has recently inaugurated its first Fort Atacadista store in Novo Hamburgo, a region in the Vale dos Sinos area of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. This marks the fifth branch of the group in the state and comes with a significant investment of R$ 50 million. The new Fort Atacadista Novo Hamburgo store boasts an impressive 4,000 square meters of selling space, featuring 10,500 items in its assortment, 20 checkouts, and 307 parking spaces, including 95 covered spots. The store is particularly notable for its spacious layout that includes a bakery with on-site production capabilities, a butcher's section, and a cafeteria.

Lucas Pereira, the commercial director of Grupo Pereira, emphasized that the new store reinforces the company's position in Rio Grande do Sul as a strategic market. He also mentioned that the company plans to open between 10 to 14 additional stores across Brazil by 2025, with potential investments reaching up to R$ 1 billion. The first of these new stores is scheduled to open in Gravataí in August, followed by Erechim and Porto Alegre by 2026.

According to data from Nielsen, Fort Atacadista already holds a significant market share with four stores in Rio Grande do Sul—accounting for 10% of the atacarejos market. With two more stores set to open, this share is expected to increase to around 15% by the end of this year.
