Held during a pivotal time for the global energy sector, StocExpo 2025, the world’s leading tank storage and energy infrastructure event, concluded on March 12, 2025, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The 20th edition of StocExpo delivered an expanded programme featuring brand new conference streams, live technology demonstrations, and exclusive networking opportunities. The event showcased the industry's growing role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure.
The FETSA Conference Stage was a standout addition to this year's show, providing a space for strategic dialogue around regulation, ESG performance, and future fuels. Expert speakers from across the supply chain tackled key themes such as sustainability reporting, international standardisation, carbon pricing, and regulatory alignment. Notable contributions came from industry leaders at BP, Shell, Navigator Terminals, VTTI, Vopak, and Airbus. These speakers underscored the urgent need for investment, policy stability, and innovation across Europe and beyond.
StocExpo also featured several industry highlights and innovations. The Clean Ammonia Storage Conference explored ammonia’s growing role in the clean energy economy. Sprint Robotics demonstrated drones, crawlers, and robotic tank inspection systems that enhanced safety and efficiency. The North America Pavilion showcased transatlantic technologies on digitalisation, automation, and sustainability. Delegates also had the opportunity to tour Liquin Terminal to see one of Europe’s most advanced liquid storage terminals.
The event celebrated its 20th anniversary with sessions reflecting on past achievements and looking to the future. In a session on hydrogen development, Eugenia Belloni Pocorob (BP) and Amit Rao (S&P Global) emphasised that while hydrogen's potential is real, unlocking it will require new types of investors and long-term policy backing.
Nicolas Hamilton’s keynote speech was a defining moment of the event. As a British Touring Car driver who overcame cerebral palsy to succeed in motorsport, Hamilton shared his powerful story of resilience and self-belief with professionals navigating the complexities of the energy transition.
Sophie McKimm, StocExpo’s Event Director, stated: "StocExpo 2025 was a true celebration of innovation, collaboration, and the bold ideas driving our industry forward." She highlighted that over 20 years of evolution in the tank storage sector proved that they are ready to lead in the energy transition.
As the industry continues to evolve, StocExpo remains the global meeting place for terminal and energy infrastructure professionals. For more information on upcoming events or to stay updated on future editions of StocExpo visit www.stocexpo.com.
