The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) Colorado Section is set to host two exciting tours in April and May 2025, providing members with unique insights into cutting-edge ceramic technologies. The first tour, on April 11, 2025, will take members to Canopy Aerospace in Littleton, Colorado. Canopy Aerospace, a next-generation manufacturer of ceramic components, will host a private tour at 3:00 PM at its headquarters. Visitors will have the opportunity to see advanced manufacturing equipment, including ceramics 3D printers and testing facilities. The tour is open to US citizens only and requires registration through a specific form.
Following this, the Colorado Section will organize a tour of the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) Laboratory in Boulder on May 16, 2025. This event is limited to approximately 20 members and aims to provide attendees with an understanding of NIST's role in setting measurement standards for the United States. Interested individuals must sign up by May 2, 2025.
Both tours promise networking opportunities and social activities following the visits. Additionally, the Colorado Section has planned other events such as a trip to a Colorado Rockies home baseball game in the summer and a tour of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in September. These events offer valuable learning experiences and networking opportunities for ACerS members.
For further information or questions regarding these tours or any other ACerS activities, interested parties can contact Dr. Charles Lewinsohn or Dr. Megan Holtz from the ACerS Colorado Section leadership team.
