Many specialists and practitioners from the industrial and scientific sectors gathered at Targi Kielce on March 25, 2025, for the industry seminar on "Modern solutions for industry in terms of joining and modifying surfaces." This seminar was part of the International Trade Fair of Welding Technology and Equipment WELDING, which is a key event in the Industrial Spring series.

The event featured a series of presentations by experts from ?ukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology in Gliwice (?ukasiewicz – GIT) and invited specialists. Dr. hab. in? Marek W?glowski opened the meeting with an introduction to modern methods of surface hardening as innovative solutions supporting industry. He then presented the EDIH SILESIA SMART SYSTEMS project, highlighting the potential of cooperation between science and industry.

Dr. W?glowski explained that EDIH is the European Digital Innovation Hub, which supports companies in their digital transformation. This platform integrates business environment institutions, scientific units, and universities, offering comprehensive services tailored to the needs of industrial companies. According to Dr. W?glowski, there are 398 hubs in the European Union and 13 in Poland. EDIH supports entrepreneurs by providing access to specialist technical knowledge and tests, as well as the possibility of "testing before investment." It also offers innovative services such as financial advice, training, and skills development that are crucial for successful digital transformation.

The seminar also addressed how EDIH helps businesses solve environmental problems. This was a significant aspect as it highlighted the hub's role in promoting sustainable practices within industries.

The trade fair itself was attended by 398 exhibitors from various sectors, showcasing modern surface and welding technologies. The fair covered an area of approximately 10,000 square meters, attracting over 5,000 visitors from different parts of Poland and beyond.
