Tanzania is set to construct the largest conference centre in East and Central Africa, valued at over Sh385 billion. The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF) for the construction of the Mount Kilimanjaro International Conference Centre (MKICC). The project, expected to be completed in two years and operational by 2027, will include a 5,000-seat auditorium, a five-star hotel with 500 rooms, including 10 presidential suites, a 20,000-square-meter commercial area, 2,000 parking spaces, and a helicopter landing pad.

The project's importance was emphasized by Ridhiwani Kikwete, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office [Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities]. He stated that the project would significantly contribute to growing Tanzania's conference tourism industry. "This infrastructure will be created through a Tanzanian-led cooperation with Tanzanian finances," he noted. Kikwete stressed the need for quick action to ensure the project is completed on schedule within two years.

The construction project is part of Expogroup's efforts to support sustainable development across various industries. Expogroup has been operating in the exhibition industry for over 19 years and currently manages 20 annual exhibitions across the Middle East and Africa. The company is committed to supporting initiatives like "GO GREEN," encouraging its employees to grow a plant every weekend.

The MKICC is expected to attract numerous international exhibitors and visitors. With its advanced facilities and strategic location, it is poised to become a top venue for global conferences. The project will also generate funds and create jobs while promoting local businesses.
