The Indian dairy and food processing industry is set to host a major exhibition in Bangalore, India, from August 1st to 3rd, 2025. This event aims to bring together leaders in dairy technology from around the globe to meet dealers and distributors from South Asia. The exhibition is expected to attract a significant number of exhibitors and visitors, contributing to the growth of the Indian food industry.

The Indian food processing industry, which accounts for 32% of the country's total food market, is poised for substantial growth. With a contribution of around 8.80% and 8.39% of Gross Value Added (GVA) in manufacturing and agriculture respectively, it plays a crucial role in India's economy. Additionally, the sector contributes approximately 13% of India's exports and 6% of total industrial investment. In 2018-19, the Government of India targeted foodgrain production at 285.2 million tonnes, highlighting its importance in agricultural development.

India stands out as the second-largest fruit producer globally, with horticulture crop production reaching a record 314.7 million tonnes in 2018-19. Furthermore, India is the largest producer, consumer, and exporter of spices and spice products. These factors underscore the immense potential for value addition within the food processing industry.

The dairy sector in India has been a leading producer and consumer since 1998, with sustained growth. Dairy activities form an essential part of rural Indian economy, serving as a vital source of employment and income. The dairy market in India reached a value of INR 9,168 billion in 2018, offering profitable business opportunities while also acting as a tool for socio-economic development.

To support this sector's growth, the Government of India has introduced various schemes and initiatives aimed at developing the dairy sector. Private participation has also increased over recent years, with both national and international players entering the market attracted by its size and potential.

This exhibition promises to be a significant platform for showcasing innovations in dairy technology and fostering business relationships within South Asia's food processing industry.
