Once a year in October or November the small Italian town Città di Castello in the province of Perugia in Umbria awakens to life and is the center of the truffle exhibition in the form of a truffle market. The focus here is the rare white truffle, the most expensive edible mushroom. For many visitors from the region, it is the event of the year, which is celebrated in the entire place with festivities, demonstrations and activities for the entire family. Local restaurants offer dishes with truffles. At the market, visitors can sample local wines and typical products of the region and also buy them. Furthermore various other local products and crafts items are available at the market stalls. The visit of the truffle market can be connected with a leisurely stroll through the historic center of Città di Castello with a church, a cathedral, many historic buildings and museums. The Mostra del Tartufo Bianco in Città di Castello took place from Fri., 01.11.2019 to Sun., 03.11.2019 for the fortieth time.
