The Christmas market in Büdingen is a feast for the senses and a tribute to the most festive time of the year. Each year during Advent, the old town glows in a sea of lights, where the festive brilliance on Büdingen's towers and timbered houses creates a magical atmosphere. Over 90 stalls, spread around the market square, in the Oberhof, and around the Marienkirche, offer a variety of Christmas items – from handmade jewelry to regional specialties. The Oberhof is particularly noteworthy, transporting visitors into a medieval ambiance. Here, dance, music, and traditional crafts are featured, with the ancient stalls and hearty food offering an authentic medieval experience. This event is organized by the Büdingen Office for Youth, Culture, and Social Affairs, responsible not only for the market's organization but also for a wide range of cultural and social tasks. Visitors can easily access the Christmas market by using the special bus shuttle service from the large parking areas. Büdingen is a historically significant city, known for its well-preserved medieval old town and its castle. It is among the best-preserved urban complexes in Europe. The city is particularly famous for its fortification walls with their 22 towers, including the Großes Bollwerk and the Jerusalem Gate. The Großes Bollwerk, with its 20 meters height and walls up to 4 meters thick, is one of the most imposing fortification towers in Europe. In addition to the traditional offerings, a diverse stage program on the Christmas stage provides entertainment for both young and old.
