Every year during the Advent season, visitors to the Mitwitz Castle Christmas event are treated to very special moments. The event capitalizes on the wonderful ambiance and the incomparably festive Christmas mood. Around 100 artisans and exhibitors from near and far offer their treasures around the water castle, illuminated with magical light accents, and in the carriage house and stables, all lovingly decorated. In selecting the vendors (an old Austrian term for merchants), the organizers focus on diversity and quality. Whether it's jewelry, woodworking, or fashion – almost nothing is mass-produced. Visitors are meant to look and marvel, finding very special Christmas gifts for themselves and their loved ones. In addition to numerous performances on various stages, in the castle courtyard, and the adjacent castle park, in the form of musical entertainment by various bands and choirs, castle tours are also offered on all three days. The Renaissance water castle is a three-story four-winged building with saddle roofs and four corner towers, surrounded by a moat. It offers numerous attractions like the Neptune fountain, the sandstone statue "The Franconian Knight", or the castle chapel located in the west wing. The Christmas market will take place on 3 days from Friday, 28. November to Sunday, 30. November 2025 in Mitwitz.
