The International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITMA) is globally recognized as the largest international trade fair for textile and clothing technology. Established in 1951, ITMA is organized by ITMA Services and occurs quadrennially. The European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX), the association that originally established ITMA, is responsible for selecting the hosting locations. As a result, the fair may be held in Europe one year and then in Asia or another region in the subsequent event, depending on CEMATEX's strategic planning and the global demand and growth in the textile and clothing industry. ITMA provides an inclusive platform for inter-industry sourcing, aiming to furnish companies with innovative, future-ready solutions that offer a competitive advantage. ITMA's theme, "Transforming the World of Textiles," echoes the ambition of textile machinery manufacturers and textile producers to collaborate towards creating a sustainable future for both the industry and the planet. Four trending topics will be addressed during the fair on various platforms: advanced materials, automation and digital future, innovative technologies, and sustainability in the circular economy. These topics are relevant not only to the textile and clothing industry but also to other sectors within the value chain, including the chemical, environmental, and IT industries. Known for its broad range of products and services, ITMA covers the entire textile production chain from raw material processing to production technology and environmental solutions. The fair appeals to a diverse audience, including manufacturers, retailers, designers, engineers, and other professionals in the industry. On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 7 days of the fair, from 20. June to 26. June 2019, about 1717 exhibitors and 105298 visitors on the ITMA in Barcelona. The ITMA will take place on 7 days from Thursday, 16. September to Wednesday, 22. September 2027 in Hanover.
