The student exchange fair “Off to the World” is an important educational fair in Berlin. This one-day information event about stays abroad for students usually takes place irregularly and is organized by the non-profit organization German Foundation for International Understanding, which is committed to international education and exchange. This foundation organizes numerous student exchange fairs throughout Germany, mainly directly in educational institutions. The importance of stays abroad for young people is constantly increasing and is becoming an integral part of their CVs. The trade fair therefore offers an excellent opportunity for students, parents and educators to find out comprehensive information about stays abroad during and after school as well as funding opportunities and scholarships. The “Off to the World” trade fair covers topics such as student exchange, semesters abroad, language trips, volunteer work, internships and work & travel. Particular attention is paid to classic student exchanges (high school), boarding schools, private schools, holiday and summer camps, internships, language courses as well as the promotion of intercultural competence, education and personal development. The trade fair includes an exhibition of the leading exchange organizations from all over Germany, neutral advisory services as well as embassies and consulates. Parallel to the exhibition, there will be discussions, specialist lectures by recognized experts and reports from former program participants. In addition, scholarships are offered.
