The FISE, or the Feria Internacional del Sector Eléctrico, is an international trade fair for the electrical industry that was established in 2006. It takes place every two years at the Plaza Mayor Convention and Exhibitions Center in Medellín, Colombia, and is organized by the Camara de Comercio de Medellín. The fair aims to present, strengthen, and promote the Colombian electrical industry as a strategic pillar that makes a significant contribution to the development of the country and the region, as well as to increasing its revenue in both the national and international markets. The main themes of the fair encompass various areas of the electrical industry from the manufacturing and supply of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure for high-, medium-, and low-voltage areas to consulting services, engineering, operation, and maintenance (O&M), as well as electrical installations. Exhibitors showcase a wide range of products and services, including cables, transformers, poles, switchboards, substations, lighting, measurement technology, energy efficiency, renewable energies, and telecommunications technologies. The fair holds special significance for the city of Medellín and the country of Colombia by highlighting and supporting the electrical industry as an important economic sector. Highlights of the fair include conferences and seminars with experts, the FISE Innovation Award, which honors Colombian companies dedicated to research and development, and the FISE Power Start Up, a platform for interaction between entrepreneurs, investors, and other players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Exhibitors come from a variety of sectors, including energy and utilities, steel and metallurgy, plastics industry, oil, hydrocarbon and mining sectors, construction, food and beverage industry, as well as research and development centers.
