SIGEP China is a specialized trade fair that has established itself since its debut in 2023 as a central platform for the artisanal confectionery, pastry, bakery, and coffee sectors in China. The name SIGEP stands for Salone Internazionale Gelateria, Pasticceria e Panificazione Artigianali, which translates to "International Exhibition for Artisan Gelato, Pastry, and Bakery"—a clear commitment to craftsmanship and innovation in these fields of indulgence. Held annually at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center—one of the largest and most advanced exhibition venues in the world—SIGEP China is ideally located in southern China, a region of strong economic growth. The event is organized by Koelnmesse (Beijing) Co., Ltd. in collaboration with IEG China Co., Ltd., two well-established organizers with extensive industry expertise and global reach. SIGEP China is part of the international SIGEP network, which originated in Italy and has since expanded to several countries. With a strong focus on gelato, bakery, pastry, chocolate, and coffee, the fair is tailored to meet the specific needs of professionals in the sweet goods industry. It showcases not only premium ingredients and raw materials but also cutting-edge machinery, equipment, packaging solutions, and services that span the entire production and supply chain. SIGEP China bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and future-forward technology, creating a unique platform for both innovation and authenticity. The event targets trade visitors from sectors such as pastry, bakery, gastronomy, hospitality, coffee trade, and the broader food industry. It offers opportunities to explore new products and establish valuable business connections. Particularly noteworthy is the fair’s regional relevance to the Greater Bay Area—one of China’s most dynamic economic zones—where Shenzhen plays a key role as a hub of innovation. A major highlight is the rich supporting program featuring prestigious competitions such as the Gelato China Cup, the Chinese selection of the Juniores Pastry World Cup, and the CTI Coffee Latte Art Competition. These contests bring together top talents from across the industry, encourage creative exchange, and turn SIGEP China into a standout industry event. The program is further enhanced by live demonstrations, expert presentations, and networking formats that provide deep insights into current trends and market developments. Another advantage is its strategic alignment with ANUFOOD China, which runs concurrently and expands the exhibition’s scope to include the food and beverage sectors. This synergy creates a comprehensive trade fair experience for all attendees. The Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center impresses not only with its modern architecture and state-of-the-art infrastructure but also with its excellent accessibility—whether by metro, airport, or expressway, reaching the venue is quick and convenient. Shenzhen itself, directly bordering Hong Kong, is a high-tech metropolis with a vibrant food scene and international outlook—making it the ideal setting for an event that combines flavor, craftsmanship, and business at the highest level. On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 3 days of the fair, from 24. April to 26. April 2024, about 500 exhibitors and 29390 visitors on the SIGEP China in Shenzhen. The third edition of the SIGEP China takes place on 3 days from Thur., 24.04.2025 to Sat., 26.04.2025 in Shenzhen.
